It does look like the U.S. remembers its old European imperial roots at the dawn of each century and goes out to make a name for itself in a colonial expansion war. They have done it twice now in two centuries, will they do it again 2100?.

We inherited the best and worst qualities of our European ancestor mother nations, so calculate 300-400 years times each major European Empire (England, France, Germany, Italy, etc.) our inmigrants came from. That is about 2,700-3,000 years worth, give or take. Plenty of time to learn to better manage our domination of the planet in their historically legacy behalf into the future.
