Part 4: Shaving continues - Shearing scene 2 of 3 Each year around St. Patrick's Day, St. Baldrick's Foundation organizes fundraising events in many U.S. cities to raise money for childhood cancer research. People volunteer to have their heads shaved to be in solidarity with the many children who lose their hair due to the side effects of chermotherapy while battling cancer. They ask their friends, family and acquaintences to sponser them. Losing his locks in Boulder, Colorado on March 15, 2008, Tim raised more than $1700 for this cause. In addition, he donated his 25 inch ponytail, a growth of more than 8 years, to Locks of Love, which makes wigs for cancer-stricken children. The Boulder event sheared more than 400 heads and raised more than $80,000.
