Sep 8, 2008 - my team mate, has a wr450, with standard gear ratios, in other words the sprockets have the same amount of teeth on front and rear, about 12 on the front and 47 on the rear.but the gear ratios inside the bike its self are geared higher. which means the bike will accelerate great of the start but lack a lot of speed in top gear. but he still placed 1st in two of hes races this weekend. sure as hell you can use a trail bike, but he is a graet rider.
