Nele (orphange) of Hindu Seva Pratishthana, Karnataka Nele (means shelter in Kannada) started its operation with mere fifteen boys aged between 4-13 in the year 2000 at Bangalore. Today there ae 5 Nele (two exlusively for girls) hosting more then 130 childen. Even though these children come from a poor background of utter poverty and neglect, they have been quick to imbibe healthy habits like cleanliness, politeness, courtesy towards other children, respect for teachers and reverence for cultural values. Making a difference in the life of a child will impact generations. For many children in India, streets are their homes. These children live in situations where there is no protection, supervision or direction from responsible adults. There are infinite barriers that hinder these children from having a good living. in Bangalore there are more that 80000 children picking rags and living on roadsides. Each one of us agree that every child deserves a decent living, affection and a chance to learn.

Mar 1, 2008 - Hi, Nele It is great to see these programs grow and develop into big places. Thank you. One comment...kids of 4 - 13 don't have any religion and it should embrace all kids of any religion. Even though the name is Hindu Seva Prathisthana, Hiduism includes all humanity...Thanks.
