Aug 30, 2008 - I always wondered why the people got so excited over a college team when they could root for Oklahoma City's NFL team...not quite yet, but the Tulsa MLB team...opps I missed again, well the Oklahoma City's NBA team...oh almost. I guess that's why they go nuts over Boomer Sooners.

Sep 4, 2008 - It's the Sooners. Not the Boomer Sooners. Geez. Besides, pro sports is not as interesting.

Sep 5, 2008 - The fight song is Boomer Sooner. I attended the last game of the season 1977 against Nebraska when I was a small child and got belted by oranges being thrown toward the field and I will never forget that song. My wife is FROM Oklahoma and I know more about Okieland than I care to admit. Can't wait tell the BCS Championship game between Oklahoma and USC.

Soonerguys Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - You are correct. The fight song is Boomer Sooner. If you know as much about "Okieland", as you call it, then you should have no trouble understanding the excitement over a college team -- whether it be USC, Nebraska, Alabama, Texas, Florida, Ohio State, or Oklahoma. There are elements to this game that the pros can only hope to replicate. By the way, I can say from experience its not easy to get the orange juice stain out of clothing (I was at that '77 game too, and quite a few since then).
