But the big thing to me is that christians today are very warlike and not at all like christ, who was a pacifist. Nowadays being called a pacifist is the ultimate insult.

Mar 10, 2008 - When i was watching the republican debates it reminded me of the choice between Jesus and Barabbas. 2000yrs ago they chose Barabbas instead of Jesus because they thought Jesus was crazy and Barabbas was a soldier. Now they made Ron Paul look crazy because he wants to stop the war and they chose McCain who wants to continue on the war for as long as it takes.

May 30, 2008 - Barkley's point is that the tendancy of today's conservatives is to be discriminatory (judgemental) toward various groups - such as their desire to deny equal rights to gays regarding marriage. Progressives, on the other hand, tend to be inclusive - for example, wanting to give gays equal marriage rights. If Barkley is being "judgemental", it is only to point out the discriminatory practices of conservatives. I'd cut him some leeway on this one.
