Feb 29, 2008 - I think Ken still got some gas. He's had some time off and time to train. Besides age does not really matter if you eat well and workout. Look at Randy couture at 44. Jack Lalanne was freaking strong at 70 as well.

Mar 1, 2008 - Age does matter though, to an extent. No matter how well trained or fit someone is speed and reflexes deminish with age, can't be helped. But experience and smarts of a great fighter can often overcome the odds, as is the case with those guys. Besides, it's not like boxing where reflexes are called upon more so than MMA.

I agree that shamrock could have beaten ortiz in his prime. Look back to like ufc 7 way back when ortiz was jus starting how big shamrock was and how big ortiz was. Shamrock was huge and ortiz a shrimp. Age has definitely slowed shamrock down.
