Jun 24, 2008 - The Bible isn't a book by one author, it is a compilation of books written by many authors over several centuries. Furthermore, the Old Test was sealed as liturgy by Jews who had no interest in matching Jesus with the predicted Messiah. If you really want to counter this argument (to me it's OK if Christians believe that Jesus was a prophecized messiah), I would focus on the vagaries of the original prophecies, and obvious stretches like Matt1 and Luke3 linking Jesus to David by different lines.
