Feb 29, 2008 - Can you remove my fingernails? I am tired of trimming them every couple of weeks.
Idiopathogen Says:
Mar 1, 2008 - You bet.

Mar 3, 2008 - This procedure is appalling. Declawing cats will become illegal in the U.S. very soon.

Mar 13, 2008 - Hey have you figured out how to post embedded Youtube in your blog? I spent some time modifying the blogging software I have yesterday to get it post.
Idiopathogen Says:
Mar 13, 2008 - Yeah great. Then we can keep killing babies, and the ones that are lucky enough to get born can get their face torn up by a cat.
Idiopathogen Says:
Mar 15, 2008 - I use either a plugin for the blogging software, or you can copy and paste the HTML code provided by youtube under "Embed." If it is not letting you do it, you may need a plugin. Also, see if there are options in the "Share" link for your blog.

Mar 21, 2008 - Thanks for that video. With all of the negative comments available about declawing cat's I was a little worried about the exact procedure my two cat's had to go through. Neither of my cat's were in pain from the surgery the day after and both were perfectly fine after less than a week.I have yet to see any problems faced by my cats after the declaw procedure. The only original drawback was using paper litter which ended up being great because it's the best type of litter I have found so far!

Mar 29, 2008 - STOP DECLAWING CATS.
MehhLIGAF Says:
Mar 31, 2008 - This is sick and completely unnecessary. There is no reason why a cat should get declawed.

Mar 31, 2008 - You'll find the capslock key next to the letter "A" on your keyboard.

Apr 20, 2008 - Thank you so much for posting this. I have the only pro-declaw group on Facebook (that I have ever come across, anyway), and trust me, I get my share of bitching. I'll be sure to post this there. Thank you!!

Apr 21, 2008 - I have two questions...1st how do you feel about taking all (including the back claws) off the cat? My friend wants to do that with her new cat, but I don't think that's a good idea. 2nd, is this the only procedure used? My family had my cat declawed a few years back and the vet said that what he does is scrape out the claw cells. He even told us that there's a chance that the claws can grow back and he'll take them out for free if that happens.
Idiopathogen Says:
Apr 21, 2008 - 1. Removing the back claws is almost never necessary, and makes it more difficult for the cats to climb trees. They are also more difficult to remove. I have never done the back ones. 2. I'm not familiar with that procedure, but would expect similar results to this video since they are preserving, perhaps even more than I do, some of the last bone in the claw. Good pain medication is important, and a laser can help significantly as well. We're getting a laser today.

Apr 21, 2008 - I see. Thanks for answering! I shall pass the word to my friend!
Idiopathogen Says:
Apr 26, 2008 - I should add that the techniques described with laser DO NOT preserve any of P3, and while these cats have very little pain shortly after the procedure, they most likely will have chronic lameness. It's better to have it done right without a laser than done wrong with a laser. Vet's need to stop taking all of P3, and need to charge $200 - $300 for a procedure that should take more than 1/2 hour rather than $75 for a 10 minute procedure to satisfy clients that love their money more than the cat

May 28, 2008 - Hey do you do a de-fingering procedure for humans? My child won't stop drawing on the walls, and my walls are very precious to me. Would you be able to remove my child's fingers?
Idiopathogen Says:
May 28, 2008 - Do a search for Michael and Debbi Pearl. They have some excellent books on child training. A cat is innocent and acting on instinct, and often cannot be trained to do otherwise. Your child has a sinful nature and needs proper training, "won't stop" implies an active will that must be broken if you want to have a happy relationship with your child. I would also recommend you have some red meat. The B-vitamins may help clear your head so you don't come up with such absurd ideas in the future.
VeganButterfly Says:
May 28, 2008 - You're the one who has the absurd idea of amputating sentient beings, not me. And I get plenty of B-vitamins thank you very much.
