Mar 17, 2008 - (1) nothing wrong in hating a person who is willingly prejudiced against you. Yes it is racist in the sense that I am judging entire Aus based on the Internet morons, the cricket players and the media, the ilk that comes to India for soul harvesting, hence identifies themselves more with the British Empire (can send articles about this). (2) am honest about what I am, hence express my opnion about other as candidly. me + entire AUS is racist. But other Indians are too nice.

Mar 19, 2008 - mate.. i am not here to justify who are the culprits here, but i surely deny ur statement that indians are racist, i ve been livin in australia for long enough time.i am never gonna say that australia is a racist country or racist community, infact i was treated well and i am being treated well.but it doesnt mean all the australians are not racist and all the indians are racist, it just depends on ones individual mentality, i just find it foolish to fight over racism.

EviejO83 Says:

Mar 19, 2008 - Here's the run down. I was saying that not all australians were racist and Newchap and a few others were claiming that we all were, including myself. The basis of the claim that I was racist was that I took the Australians word over the Indians. Newchaps justification for the racism towards Symonds was that Indians had a "negroid percentage". In my above comment I am referring only to the people who have been racist in these discussion forums. I dont think that there would be many racist Indians

EviejO83 Says:

Mar 19, 2008 - Basically - people on here have been saying that all Australians were racist and no Indians were racist. I was saying some Australians are racist and some Indians are racist.

spicydesire Says:

Mar 19, 2008 - fair enugh..

Mar 23, 2008 - people of india etc ... you may feel that you are made into stereotypes by those in the west sometimes, but it happens the other way as well. e.g. when you cite george w. bush and murdoch to be as if they are representative of my views. trust me, they are not. you would be surprised to know that quite as many if not more ppl in the west criticize bush as much as ppl in the east. i have never spoken to an aussie who has a nice word to say about bush!

viciousai Says:

Mar 23, 2008 - they certainly do not represent my views, any more than, say, pervez mussaraf is representative of your views simply because he is of 'the east'. Take me for example. I am 'western'. but it doesn't follow that i despise 'the east' & agree with everything prominent western men say. in fact i love bollywood and am learning hindi, urdu and farsi so that i can live & work in 'the east'. So just think - people on both sides of the argument - don't judge others so quickly or on stereotypes.

Mar 24, 2008 - Your reading too much Rudyard Kipling mate (someone who himself was an imperialist believing in racial superiority). Bad example to bring up.

joysamcyborg Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - If monkey is God then whats the fuss all about. After all ya'll Aussies are the ones complaining about "racism".

viciousai Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - Kipling was a man of his context, in a context where colonialism was thought of as moral. No one can escape their context. However, it is ironic that his analogies about ignorant, bitter people behaving like monkeys have survived the ages and can be applied to you today!

viciousai Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - So you're saying ... monkey = God. Symonds = a monkey. Therefore Symonds = a god. Is that what you're saying??? That bhajji was actually paying Symonds a compliment when he called him a monkey? Wow pity no-one mentioned that beforehand, then all this nonsense could have been avoided. I'll ring up Symonds right now and explain the misunderstanding. Thanks for the heads up mate! I owe you one!

joysamcyborg Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - Straw man argument. Even Nazism and Afro-African slavery (and in your country the extermination of Aborigines) were thought of as moral in their context. What has actually survived is the inherent racism in your society that has taken a more subtle form, has become more sophisticated and nuanced. Hence your kind can still easily relate to Rudyard Kipling attitude towards those he referred to as "lesser people".

viciousai Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - Dude, there is a history of racism and prejudice in every society. Australia and the Aborigines, America and the blacks, nazi Germany and the Jews and India and the so-called "Untouchables". Wake up from your dream!

joysamcyborg Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - " Symonds = a god. Is that what you're saying???" Yup if that make you guys feel any better. Why not.

viciousai Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - never mind what "makes us feel better" - how about the truth?

joysamcyborg Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - Untouchability at its worst never killed or exterminated a whole damn population. I dont think I can agree with your attempt at moral equivalence.

viciousai Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - The attitudes are the same. Believing that someone is less than human because of physical characteristics. I am not saying they were on the same level, I am contesting your tone of superiority that suggests that yours in the only nation without a dark part.

joysamcyborg Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - I find it funny the way you equivocate. Talk against the so-called racist monkey comment and at the same time quote someone who at one point of time actually believed in racial superiority.

joysamcyborg Says:

Mar 24, 2008 - My nation is the US.

MumbaiKabhai Says:

Mar 31, 2008 - These ugly people should learn to repect their Indian masters.

newstateonline Says:

Apr 21, 2008 - Harbhajan bullied Hayden on the Cricket Pitch. India finished the series with the cup.
