Aug 19, 2008 - This isn't based on a true story. It doesn't even say that in the trailer or movie. It says inspired by a true story. Which is true for most horror stories regardless of whether they put it up or not. This just happens to be one of the few horror stories that actually IS within the realm of possibility. 'Inspired by a true story' is purely a gimmick to psychologically freak ppl out and make them say to themselves 'this could happen to me?...HOLY SHIT AAAAAAH' and so on.
