The Habs traded Huet to make cap space for Hossa. That was the point you missed. But still a 2nd round pick next year. Armstrong was a big hitter in Pittsburh & now with another injury to Hossa our lineup is depleted. I see a losing streak. When Hossa & Sid come back they'll have little time to gel as the playoffs will be right around the corner. Later.

Mar 30, 2008 - SJ Sharks could also win. The Huet trade was only to give Price experience. The GM & coach KNOW that the Canadiens WON'T win the cup this year, regardless of the standings. Too small. They just want their young team & rookie goalies to get playoff experience so they know what they can expect in a few yrs from now (and which young prospects they can trade or keep) They got some BIG prospects coming in soon, it's basically a youth movement. I wouldn't be surprised if Koivu is gone soon too.
