It's very important to be careful and thoughtful about them, and the pacing and breathing between them is a key part of yoga. Jul 19, 2008 - yes potential for back injury especially lumbar and cervical veterbrae, wrist- not "dangerous" if the poses are done correctly so with the help of a yoga instructor no problems with upward facing dog. The rest of the poses seem to me to be beginner safe without an instructor that's all.
