Aug 2, 2008 - He probably lives in the U.S. where CDE... is commonly used instead of DO RE MI... If you know that C is the same as DO then you follow the letters (CDEFGAB) in a scale. I prefer DO RE.. also as it is international.

Aug 2, 2008 - Thanks. The letters C D E in general have a logical sequence that Do Re etc don't and hence the former may be easier for a beginner to remember. I frankly think they should use numbers for time intervals, note names and fingers but in 3 various languages. Farsi is great since they are one syllable & every one knows their sequence. };^)
