In 1953, the United States overthrew the only democratic leader Iran ever had; Mossedegh, at the request of the British SIS (MI6). Mossedegh had decided to stop Britain from stealing it's natural resources (Oil) & give the profits back to the rightful owner's, namely the Iranian people. Having expelled British dimplomats from the country, the British turned to America to plan & operate the coup. Afterwards, the United States reinstalled the Shah & trained his brutal secret police force; The Savak, who killed & tortured 1000's of people for decades. *********************************** The CIA in Iran New York Times Special * Britain, fearful of Iran's plans to nationalize its oil industry, came up with the idea for the coup in 1952 and pressed the United States to mount a joint operation to remove the prime minister. http://www.nytimes.com/library/world/mideast/041600iran-cia-index.html http://www.nytimes.com/library/world/mideast/041600iran-cia-chapter3.html *********************************** CIA Declassified documents: (courtesy of the NYT) http://www.nytimes.com/library/world/mideast/iran-cia-intro.pdf Same from George Washington University: http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB28/index.html#documents *********************************** C.I.A. CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - Why should we bomb Iran for the crimes of Britain, America & the CIA?
Sazzylilsmartazz Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - We shouldn't! We've done enough damage in Iraq. I wasn't quite sure of what you were saying. Sorry, but happy to learn you don't want to bomb Iran. I'm sick and tired of war and knowing innocent people are being killed.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - This video is the first in a series highlighting declassified documents evidencing democracies America & Britain have covertly overthrown since WWII & some of the atrocities they have been complicit in. Next will be Guatemala, then Brazil, Indonesia, Greece & then Chile.
Sazzylilsmartazz Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - Thank you!
KenCat1337 Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - These were all wars fueled by capitalism and the need to take more resources from the Earth that was here before us.
ntheAttic Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - Excellent vid. I'm looking forward to additons in your series.
overmind25 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - They were acts of aggression. Any type of economic society whether state capitalism or state communism can and has committed aggression.
KenCat1337 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Well in order for that state to survive longer, it has to -- all states will fall naturally, it is the duty of the government to stop this natural process from happening.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - It's just that there is a higher correlation of external aggression from Capitalist States than Communist States. Capitalist Britain killed 17 million in India, Capitalist Belgium killed 8 million in Congo, Capitalist European Countries & America killed 17-20 million in the Atlantic Slave trade, the Capitalist re-ordering of WWI killed 15 million people, America & Britain alone have killed nearly 10 million people abroad since WWII.
overmind25 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Well I guess it would depend on how you define capitalism. Those acts are aggression and are the stealing of others land/resources and forcing them to agree to something they didn't want to agree too.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - The backbone of Capitalism is the implementation of Property Rights. This is in effect; stealing the land that nature provided freely for us all to share (like oxygen) & privatizing it into the hands of the highest bidders. Not only does these mean that the rich elites hoard vast tracts of land (thus pushing up land values & forcing the rest of us into wage-slavery to pay rent) it also gives them monopoly over resources, which forces us to work for them.
overmind25 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Without property we have no were to safely keep what we own. I wouldn't say property is the backbone of free markets but is just a by product, well at least it is to me, maybe not to others. Pushing up land values would happen if it was demanded and was able to be paid for by a large number of people and "wage slavery" is just an agreement between two people.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - You have confused 'property ownership' (which means ownership of land), with owning a house which sits on land. Imagine, the Capitalists invent forcefields & harness oxygen & force you to work 800% harder to pay to be able to breathe. It will be an inevitable part of privatizing nature, yes, but not at all legitimate. With regards to work agreements; The resources have been held hostage by the rich elites, backed by the force of the State it is therefore not a contract under free conditions.
overmind25 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - So we do own the property then that our material is on. Your scenario of oxygen seems over the top but it is an act of aggression since oxygen flows freely from land to land (and sea).
overmind25 Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Btw, I am not an expert in science and have doubts that creating a force field to harness oxygen is even possible. It just sounds like a sci fi doomsday scenario to justify economic and social imperialism.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - There is nothing wrong with owning things (since they are specifically divisible from nature) or owning a house. Whether or not the land that the structure sits on can be owned is another matter. Not such a bad thing if ownership is on a limited needs must basis. The unlimited acquisition & monopolization of land & resources is the problem. It forces the landless person to work 800% harder than necessary just to pay rent or buy back a tiny scrap of land, just to occupy space on earth.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - Think of rent as being a tax on being born & taking up space. Anywhere you stand is owned & some land owner wants rent if you stay there & so you are forced to work 30-50 years hard labor to take up space (instead of a reasonable amount of work to afford food, heat & a few luxuries). Mad, when there is enough land for every single person on the planet to 'own' 7 acres each. Sharing it out would be impractical of course, but there are alternatives. Sadly they don't benefit elite rule.
CapitalistHolocaust Says:
Oct 11, 2008 - It's just an analogy to demonstrate how ludicrous it is to take something that nature has provided freely & allow a tiny rich elite to monopolize it. In the U.K. 0.6% still own 69% of the land. The land was stolen long ago & kept in the hands of the few by force of the State. The result is slavery, there is no denying it, however you justify it.
M3minusGrowth Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - Ron Paul even said Iran was a democracy during the 50's.
disseminator88008 Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - goes to show how fragile democracy is. too many people just go to work, come home watch tv, party on the weekend... and let these evil people manipulate entire countries
RubiconJohn Says:
Oct 12, 2008 - most people are so very unhappy in our current system of wage slavery. instead of being proactive and dealing with the route cause it is very tempting to just distract themselves from their lives by partaking in the massive amounts of simulated entertainment around us. the worst part is that this only prolongs the inevitable and causes even more pain for those living in this system. our way of life is not sustainable and a collapse is coming. how bad that collapse is is up to us.
thereape420 Says:

getplaning Says:
Oct 28, 2008 - The United States has overthrown more democratic governments around the world than any other country, including the Soviet Union. In 2000, the United States even overthrew itself.
Sazzylilsmartazz Says:
Oct 10, 2008 - So, what are you saying? We should bomb bomb bomb Iran?
