" Enough of this lovey-dovey stuff, Kristin what would you like to do for your birthday?" Joe asked. "My birthday?" I repeated, totally confused. "Yea, your 16th.birthday. Next Wednesday. October 16, right?" Kevin said, looking confused as well. "yea I had forgotten it was next week." I told them. "So , what do you want for your sweet 16?" Joe asked. "Ummmmm. I know. I want a McDonalds chocolate milkshake!" I exclaimed. {AN; those are REALLY good.} "You going to get your license?" Nick softly asked. All of a sudden, I was back in the car. My real Mom and Dad were talking about how good the show had been. We had been at a musical and it was around 9:45 an night, I was only 6 so that seemed pretty late to me. Suddenly I saw two blinding lights coming straight for us. "Jack, look out!" My real mother screamed, her last words. All I heard next as the sound of our car crunching and glass breaking. "Kristin, its ok. Dont cry." Nick was saying, I snapped back to reality. I was shaking and crying. His strong arms were around me, and I was crying onto his shoulder, totally wetting his shirt. "I don't want a license. Please dont make me drive." I sobbed. "No ones going to make you drive. You will drive when you're ready to. No ones going to force you." Nick said softly. "Would you like a milkshake?" Joe tentatively asked. "If its not too much trouble." I replied, realizing I really would like a milkshake. "Trouble? To got to McDonalds? Joe, lets go!" Kevin said, dragging Joe with him. "Are you ok now?" Nick asked. "Yes, but hold me right Please." I said, "it makes me feel safe." Instantly his arms tightened around me, making me feel safer and stronger. I breathed in his heavenly scent. I thought about how many girls wanted to be lying in Nicks arms {LIKE ME}, and how lucky I was to be the one he chose.
