Sep 4, 2008 - I would have never voted for Hillary!:)

timido66 Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - I agree with you on the reason he picked her. I also think it's insulting to women to think they will vote for them because she is a women.

anakin1814 Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - I too think he picked her because she's a woman and trying to sway the Hillary vote.

Sep 4, 2008 - Hi Ran, I did not hear anything new from Governor Palin either, nor did I expect to. By entering the fray at this late point in the campaign, it is clear that she must toe the party line. However, I think that Dick Chaney, much to my chagrin, has proven that the office of the Vice President can wield tremendous influence into the formulation of policy. Therefore, I no longer view the vice presidency as being a ceremonial position. Ray

Sep 4, 2008 - I have to say I totally avoided the Republican convention. I just turned on the TV and there it was, so I switched quickly. Taking on Palin to "sway the woman vote" is insulting to our intelligence. I don't get it either, Ran.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - but you will vote for palin?

Ranblv Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - I agree its insulting but all the pundits think that is why he picked her.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - I hope I am not wrong in giving women much more credit than he did.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - true about chaney but I don't think JM is anything like bush.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - I wasn't gonna watch it either but I was curious to hear her speak.

1DRock37167 Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - The people in the republican party are just excited to have someone that has a pulse on the ticket. Her past actions are starting to seep out and soon the people will know her for the social climbing, power hungry, back stabber that she is. D

Sep 5, 2008 - thanks 4 sharing your 2 cents ;o)

proofisinthepudding Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - I'm not voting for who was picked for vice president. My mind for who I was going to vote for was made up before vice presidents were picked!:)

Ranblv Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - It will be interesting to see what will unfold that's for sure.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - Glad you watched it :-)

ItalianStallionette Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - Great points. I looked her up, and all I can say... Icky!

FourWomen Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - WOW...

Ranblv Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - yup it was a terrible speech :-)

OhCurt Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - I love that you brought up the 1960 debates! This entire campaign has, for months, been making me think of that example. Ran, I don't think you missed anything. You're more clued in than most, I'd say. Just like with all elections, I'll be voting for what appears to be the lesser of all evils. Still not 100% certain how I'll vote, but I know one thing for certain: I don't trust Palin. AT ALL!

popparoc46 Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - I watched as well, Ran and thought much the same as you did. A lot of glitz and not much else. Of course, she was preaching to the converted and everyone was on a high - she didn't need to convince anyone of anything. It will be different in a debate, I am sure. Palin and Clinton can't even be compared! I am sorry Clinton isn't in the running. Huh. A hockey mom with lipstick. - roc

Ranblv Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - I think we have been voting for the lesser evil for too long for me its been like that since 1992.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 5, 2008 - I guess you are right about preaching to the quire, but after being on the ticket only a week, I thought she had a lot to prove to the people watching her on television.

bluescreenkid Says:

Sep 10, 2008 - shame on you for not thinking that us UK peeps don't know about the JFK/Nixon debate :p ;). i agree that sarah palin said nothing. but then neither side are really saying any factual policies. that's just the climate of political debate we live in. i have no respect for hilary though either. anyone who does not want to pay for the healthcare of the first responders on 9/11, due to the EPAs mistake, can go swivel.

Ranblv Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - Hi BSK, we had plenty of political debates before so I am not starting one here online :-P I hope you will get back to YIM or MSN soon.
