I'm in one of America's greatest treasures on Independence day. Full of red, white, and blue pride a decided to put the leisure time on hold and get my hands dirty...er. I volunteered for the park's Habitat Protectors program...which is a very diplomatic way to say "come pull weeds for us". Seriously though, invasive plant species are a very real threat to the delicate ecosystem of Yosemite. So I slipped on some gloves and wrestled with thorny Himalayan blackberry and hard to spot Salsafie. I put in 4 hours of sweat labor and helped keep one of the most beautiful spots on the planet healthy. I pledge allegiance......
