Apr 17, 2008 - Interesting video. I'm not really sure about everything here though so explanations would be great! Some facts are undeniable e.g the scripture passages quoted, and the sincerity and hope that the speaker holds for all catholics, these sentiments should be commended, to have reasoned debate and compassion with people of other faiths Excellent.

Apr 17, 2008 - I do have some questions though Isn't the Holy Bible, only the Holy Bible because the Roman Catholic church SAID it was the Bible? Therefore, any attempt by a non-catholic Christian to undermine or denounce the RC church is surely an attack on their own, soley Bible-based faith? With all respect, please could someone answer me these questions.

Slavesrevolt Says:

Apr 17, 2008 - When you step outside of the current cultural structure, with sufficient information about global matters, you see organized religions for what they are. Freedom of religion is the freedom to supplant lies in the minds of children. Through these lies and cognitive dissonance they create zealots willing to defend their faiths, even to the death. The wholly controlled state run media outlets just continue to reinforce these lies and cultural, racial biases. Their meaning of life is an iGod.

popsandweasel Says:

Apr 18, 2008 - I can't disagree with your point about the media having a huge degree of control over the masses, almost hypnotically in fact.

popsandweasel Says:

Apr 18, 2008 - You make a number of points here, but these are generic statements without specific examples. I agree that in some quarters, religion is abused into the realms of dystopia of which I assume you are alluding to, on the whole however religions do or should stand for the virtues of love & patience, therefore it is their misguided members who give them this modern day impression of Orwellian dystopia.

Slavesrevolt Says:

Apr 18, 2008 - There in lies the rub. Religion allows a few zealots and psychos to control huge masses of populations. You hold up the "good" works and say leave religion alone. The many good works will never counter the few bad deeds. The organized religions allow people to be used. They trust blindly, faithfully. Until everyone realizes they are not in control of their own minds nothing will change. The theorem of cognitive dissonance comes to mind

popsandweasel Says:

Apr 19, 2008 - I believe that at their most basic, religions are our way of explaining or relating to God. E.g we say 'God our Father' to induce the connotations of 'Father' i.e. authority figure, teacher etc., I doubt that he is actually a PERSON in heaven, 'Father' is just our way to relate to him.

popsandweasel Says:

Apr 19, 2008 - With any large institution, where men are involved, there will be corruption. This does not mean however that God cannot 'speak' to his people through this channel. You are clearly 'anti-religion' and I can see why some people are today. I assume from your video that you are perhaphs a non-denominational Christian?

cycimian Says:

Apr 25, 2008 - Agreed, Even as a young kid i found the superstition and fear,To the point where you stop being human,(monster) The 10 commanments of the Hebrews Is a good basic cultural set of laws, But the bloody fear filled history of corruption and the manipulation of history should be self explanitory, Keep Jeasus in your heart to be a better person if it helps you, Do what you can for each other, Is the first step to enlightend wisdoms, Compassion always for those who are less then you in life,

May 17, 2008 - I think the Catholic church changed the bible to suit it's own needs and perversions. Then, when the control of the wealthy church became too corrupt Martin Luther led the Protestant Reformation. A lot of the stuff we read in the Bible today, I believe, are lies the Catholic Church placed in the Bible to control mankind. The all latin Bible at that time was craftily maneuvered to decieve and control - maybe in King James trans also. Some of the Bible we believe today is false - I believe.
