Nov 1, 2008 - it was a rally in the USA..so English is Appropriate. Kelly has done opera stuff in the past as a kid and theater-style vocals..She just chose to sing it like this because it was the wish of the pope. Look up "kelly clarkson waiting for my dearie" on youtube.

I was washing dishes when I heard the song being performed and I ran to the television to see who was singing AVE MARIA so well. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was Kelly Clarkson. I am not surprised that she is a great singer!

Nov 17, 2008 - kelly's cool, but honestly why'd they pick her to sing a song like that? they should've asked someone like celine dion (she has the best version of it, in my opinion), luciano pavarotti, or andrea bocelli or maybe even beyoncé (she has a version of it on her album, sounds really pretty). but not kelly clarkson.
