This lake is very ancient and have culture of three great religions. Hindus have an centuries old temple of Saint Kapil, Buddhists have three monasteries and Sikhs have a Sikh Temple. A separate Sikh sect knows as "Namdhari Sikhs" had prophesy of their Great Guru, that only Riwalsar will remian safe after dooms day.
