Legal Authority of Hadith - by Shaykh Bilal Ali Ansari - A segment of "The Forgotten Traditions" From: Darul Hikmah The Gateway to Wisdom © 2007 DarulHikmah.com 03.31.2007 - Recorded at ICC Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines in Des Plaines, IL The city of Des Plaines is a northwestern suburb of Chicago, Illinois http://www.darulhikmah.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=62 Video compiled by riccashade2 http://www.youtube.com/user/riccashade2 The ahadith are legitimate and have been preserved. Islam's historical sources are accurate. Learn Islam from learned Muslims, not so-called "experts" or "scholars" of Islam. Don't let orientalists, non-Muslims, Western academics fool you or cause doubts in your mind about the authenticity and preservation of hadeeth. Alhamdulillah Allah (God) has protected His true religion (Islam) and InshaAllah Allah will continue to preserve and protect it until the end. The book of Allah, the Quran, in its original form, still exists with us, as well as the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (saas), known as hadith. Hadith elaborates on the meanings of the Quran. Isnad/Sanad (chain of transmission) is something unique to Islam; no other religion in the world has it. Shaykh Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari stated: "Isnad (chain of transmission) Allah Almighty has honoured the Ummah of the best of creation, our master Muhammad (Allah bless him & give him peace) with many special characteristics that were not given to any other nation before. From among these favours is the unrivalled and unique feature of Isnad in relating the various sciences of Islamic knowledge. Isnad was regarded by the early Muslims (salaf) as the first and primary condition in relating any aspect of Shariah even if it was merely relating one word. With this, Allah Most High fulfilled his promise of preserving the Deen which includes the book of Allah, Sunna of the beloved of Allah and the various Islamic sciences that are indispensable in understanding the former two. Allah Most High says: We have without doubt, sent down the Message; and we will assuredly guard it. (Surah al-Hijr, V.9) The message here refers to the book of Allah and also the Sunna of his blessed Messenger (Allah bless him & give him peace), for whatever the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) says is from Allah Almighty, for Allah Most High says: Nor does he (the Messenger of Allah) say (aught) of (his own) desire. It is no less than revelation (wahi) sent down to him. (al-Najm, V. 3-4)." http://qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=7&ID=2097&CATE=120 If you would like to study and become a scholar of Islam, please undergo traditional Islamic learning. Aetherus7 Says:

Mar 30, 2008 - Please explain... "If a Hadith agrees with the Quran we will accept it, and if it contradicts the Quran, we will reject it!" Such premise proves that these people do not believe God's assertions that the Quran is "complete, perfect and fully detailed." The moment they seek guidance from anything besides the Quran, no matter how "right" it seems, they fall into Satan's trap (see 63:1). For they have rejected God's word and set up another god besides God (18:57).

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - He is my aqeedah teacher, and he is da bomb! ive been smitten by his knowledge. he is a veritable bookworm and is extremely articulate. Plus, he has the most beautiful written arabic i have ever seen on a blackboard. Im not sure who u are, but i have been studying under him for over 6 months. and he is excellent. Salams

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - Uhhh...i think u misinterpreted urself, sugar. "...if it contradicts the Quran, we will reject it!"....it means we will reject the hadith, Einstein! not reject the Quran.

Aetherus7 Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - Perhaps you should gain an understanding of English grammar be4 insulting. "It" refers to the Hadith, not Quran. Second, you might notice the quotations, which means the question was not my own; I HOPED a Muslim scholar could refute the claim. Obviously you are far from a scholar, and rude as well. Does Islam teach you to be rude and ignorant? Good day.

Aetherus7 Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - "da bomb" Interesting, I do hope your crush on this man will provoke you to study Islamic morals and manners as well. I know the speaker myself, as I used to attend the same Masjid, btw.

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - I am aware that the quote was not your own. but the statement succeeding the quote is what i am addressing. Since the Muslim scholar did not post this video, it is unlikely u would get a response from them here on youtube. You are correct,i am far from being a scholar, but the attitude i presented in my response was reflective of your statement ..Such premise proves that these people do not believe God's assertions that the Quran is "complete, perfect and fully detailed."

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - "da bomb" doesnt reflect a crush. im not sure of your age, but perhaps your generation gap difference might prove why you didnt understand that term. da bomb is a way of saying cool, super, exceptional...so on so forth in slang lingo. Irrespective, i still need to study Islamic morals and manners since I am far from the perfect Muslim. im not sure which masjid you are referring to about which you say u know the speaker urself. He is a teacher at Mustafa Masjid at Wesmont IL. I am a student there

Aetherus7 Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - Let's try it again...The question is not my own. I saw this posted somewhere else. Unfortunately youtube only allows so many letters and the last quotation mark was left out. I only typed "please explain." As a Muslim you should have better control of your emotions and use of language, especially in regards to Dawah. Not that you would know, but I am also a Muslim and it is very disrespectful to use the language you did. The question posed, however, is valid.

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - let me put it this way. when ur comment about the aqeedah of this scholar was made..ie. Such premise proves that these people do not believe God's assertions that the Quran is "complete, perfect and fully detailed." it made ur commentor sound like a Quraniyoon. A person who reject the hadith. And is it coincidental that that comment was made in the lecture on orientalists and other factions? perhaps...thus my response. I will however say that my tone was harsh and likely unneccessary.

Aetherus7 Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - "Da bomb" refers to pop culture and ignorance. "Smitten by his knowledge" refers to your crush. I am 33 and originally from the streets of Chicago, I understand all forms of the English vernacular. "Da bomb" has gone out of style years ago anyway. I used to attend ICC and MCC as well as many other Masjid around Chicagoland, I have spoke with Bilal. My point is you could be more respectful, even if someone appears rude, as a Muslim you should show eloquence, not filth.

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - you may identify a term as pop culture and ignorance...but its use is still valid. " smitten refers to crush??? have u ever read of the way the Sahaba "loved" the Prophet (PBUH)? Im sure they are not in need of any "moral islamic education" regarding thier affection of Rasullulah (SAWS). Maulana Bilal has that effect on all his students and many of the people who know him. and if u know what the bomb stands for, what was the purpose of questioning my morals?

arhamhussain Says:

Apr 7, 2008 - i do agree with ur statement of my manners.
