Jul 24, 2008 - You think your petrol prices are bad? Here in the UK it's, on average, 118p per litre. That's, what, £6 per gallon? I don't know how much it costs in the US but I'd be willing to bet it's less than that. =P The last time I was in the US, our cab driver was saying how everyone was going crazy after petrol prices went up to $3 per gallon. We told him they were on average $10 per gallon in the UK and he was gobsmacked.

Jul 29, 2008 - We tend to drive more than y'all do, though. I live up in Alaska, and driving to work for me is a good 45 minutes or longer. Plus then, there's the winter (6-8 months depending on how tenacious the winter is), which sucks a lot of efficiency out of mpg. Plus, our bus system is a lot smaller. No subways. So 4+ dollars for gas up here is the type of thing that leads to people starving or freezing in the winter.

Aug 28, 2008 - Hey Bud, Interesting views and points, on the Gas price, we are $1.99/litre, it was $2.18 the other week though, its increased by 141% in the last 10 years compared to a 0.6% increase the 10 years before 1998, yet average income increases are nothing near that high. very sad times all round.
