Once Again After Thirty Years (Abaar Bochhor Tirish Pawray) was the name of an open-air concert...On 5th January 2008, Kolkata's leading Bangla bands & pop vocalists paid tribute to the epoch-making, first Bangla band, Mohiner Ghoraguli (MG). Original songs of MG, backed for the first time by a Philharmonic Orchestra, were performed to tumultuous ovation. Performers included the living members of the original MG. Formed in 1976, MG was led by charismatic musician & lyricist, Gautam Chattopadhyay, who was once jailed for his ultra-left political sympathies. MG released only 3 vinyl records before disbanding in 1981, but in doing so they lit a spark whose fire rages in the hearts & minds of Bangla-speaking youth around the world -- Bangla Rock! This clip is an MG original song revisited with a contemporary vocalist & Philharmonic Orchestra support and with participation of 2 of the original MG band members - Abraham Mazumder (the black-suited conductor) & Ranjon Ghoshal (the Ginsberg-like character!).
