Narrated by Graham Blundell, No Deposit No Return is the story of two young Australians who, tired of being unemployed, devised a novel way of not only getting a job, but having a holiday and some great adventures at the same time. Phil Daniel and Nick Soames left Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia for a 1,370km walk south to Port Augusta in South Australia, to collect recyclable and returnable rubbish. Not only did they earn a living, but also made a tidy profit, while visiting some of outback Australia's famous landmarks along the way. "NO DEPOSIT - NO RETURN" is a film depicting the great Aussie spirit of adventure and determination. Covering 50km per day, these two young men left the Stuart Highway in pristine condition.
