Discliamer: If you have something that I might find useful, go right ahead and say it. but I dont need comments from 11 year old brats that think they are amazing ebcuase daddy buys them 50k+ horses. Keep it to your selves. I dont want to hear nonsense about how my hroses dont go on the bit. really. I dont. I have a trianer. I can ask him fi I need help. Dont waste your time arguing with me, becuase I'll delete your comment. I haven't uploaded anything in quite a while. So heres the story with whats been going on with Bernboy in the past couple weeks: Bernie and I suffered a littel setback, but were back and better than ever! I made the descision to stay away rom equitation, simply becuase I don't like the politics in the higher levels, so were sticking with jumpers! Message me if you want to know anything else xx

Jul 27, 2008 - By the way Irishsporthorse4ever messaged me and asked for the critique below.
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - ok, although I don;t do equitation, thats really good advice. thank you (:
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - You don't need to ride eq for yor eq to be important! You need a strong position in order to be able to ride correctly and effectivtly. I ride in the jumpers yet I have worked very hard to develop a correct position because it is needed.
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I know, I just tend to chose funciton over form, but I guess i should think otehr wise (:
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - yeha, I only like, maybe 2 of there songs lol. Have you heard of Got2jumpBIG on here? man shes a pian.
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Wouldn't the proper form be the most functional? That's what eq was desgined for, to make communicating your aids to the horse easy. Besides the eq faults I mentioned are basic and affect the horses balance. Heels down is the first thing you learn when you ride. Your heel is the base support for your lower leg. If your lower leg swings back when you jump you have to put all your weight onto the horses neck (front end) to stay balanced. This may cause your horse to knock a rail with front legs.
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - (Continued) If you jump ahead of the horse you're pushing all your weight forward. This also causes your horse to become unbalanced. Sure it's fine to jump ahead over a 2'6 jump but once you start moving up to anything over 3' you need to be the horses motion to help him properly clear the fence. Your back needs to stay soft and elastic to follow the horses motion. If you're stiff and tense your horse will sense this and in turn will probably be tense himself.

Jul 27, 2008 - although that is true- I never mentoined I have been jumping past 1 meter for maybe a month and a half now? I'm still working my problems out with it, Im just trying to get comfortable with it.
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I really don't mean to offend you, truly from my heart I don't but judging from this video I don't think you should be jumping 1m just yet. That's JMO and I know you have coaches who watch you ride regularly and know your riding abilites much better than I do. In this video your positon just isn't that strong over the smaller fences. What's the highest fence you jump in this video anyways?
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Yeah, that seems to be alot of peoples opinons. The highest fence in this video was around 3'3. I have been trying to take my time- i have been spedning the past week working on grids and smaller fences around 2'3/2'6. Im a work in progress. I do have coaches that watch me ride, Im also in contact with Max Amaya, just to critique me via videos I send.
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Also- the opinion on what I should be jumping varies from person to person, I was tlaking to a judge/clincian today, he had recognized me form a show alst fall- he commented that I had done well under him, and was looking forward ot seeing me in the jumpers in the fall, my coahc is agianst me showing at 1 meter, although he thinks its good to be shcooling it at home. Various others say I seem to be fine with 1 meter, others say I should go back to 2'6 for a while.
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - I can't stress the importance of having strong basics before moving onto more advanced things. If you rush yourself and jump into more advanced things before you're ready then you'll just run into a lot of problems and become frustrated. You seem to have the right mind set :). You're not like some riders *cough* simonsponygirl *cough* who rush into jumping big fences and not bother learn the correct basics.
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - As nice as I htink Grace is, she has rushed in to fast with her horse, its gone from one extreme to the next. I have been working on getting the basics down recently, it been wuite boring for me but I know that it does eventually pay off. And thank you, Ill take those as compliments. Have you heard of Max Amaya?
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - I dont know what kind of difference htis would make to you, but I started jumping seriously in spetember/early october.
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - Yes I have nothing agaisnt the girl, she seems nice enough but she really shouldn't be jumping that high! Like seriously your eq is much nicer than hers. She jumsp ahead A LOT over like every fence. I pity the horse a bit. Milo has so much potenial, you should watch the videos where his old rider Jade rides. He looks fantastic!
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - yeah, I personally think she needs to be sticking with 1 meter and building her leg, even htough im not one to judge. Thank you, as much as my leg slips back, i cant stand it when European iders legs are swinging all over the place. Milo has potential, hell he's got tolerance!
poolsproperty Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - Nice video, its good to show what stage your at, I get bad comments on my jumping (bad horse & rider) but we all need to learn & I think its good to show videos that reflect we can´´t all jump in nationals!
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - thanks very much. We can all improve in someway. Yeah, my video is just reflecting what stage Im at, and that happens to be working out the kinks at a new hieght, its going tot kae time but I knwo tis worth it.

Rodntux Says:
Aug 27, 2008 - its really sad youve decided to stay away from the eq's (i read it in the video description) because your gorgeous overall the fences!!! but i totally agree about the polotics in the higher levels
Irishsporthorse4ever Says:
Aug 28, 2008 - thank you, ive been driven to it, although I like to compete in the eq divisions, when you get into the medals it gets to be to much, jumpers is just my thing. but thank you for the compliment though (:
XxXShebaMillyXxX Says:
Aug 29, 2008 - Yeah, 1 meter...more like 1 FT.
xohunterjumper1234 Says:
Jul 27, 2008 - Critique: Put more weight in your heel. It comes up while you jump. Since you're not using your heel as support you lower leg swings back and you pinch with your knee to stay balanced. Watch 2:05 for example. You jump ahead of the motion a number to times. Try jumping w/out stirrups over single fences and gymnastics. Bend at the hip more, you stand up in your saddle a bit too much. Watch that your upper body does not become too stiff. Relax your shoulders so they don't hunch.
