The Blob (Steve McQueen version) was released theatrically with a goofy pop song "Beware of the Blob" played over the opening credits. (Side note: this song was composed by Burt Bacharrat). I'm sure this was done as the song was probably played on the radio to promote the film. Here is the opening credits with the original score. It really changes to tone of the film from kitchy to genuinely scarey, which the film is
