While there are several performances of this piece by singers with "bigger' voices and names, most often egos get in the way and reduce the performance into a singing match, a duel instead of a duet. Both possessing beautiful, expressive voices, Vargas and Gerello are well matched in vocal weight and able to give a more nuanced and meaningful dialogue.
