[AN::) 1/3 is that enough for you?] Chapter 9- A while later, Ali, Lindsey and Sam pilled into Sam's car and drove home. The girls didn't talk, but instead listened to music. There really wasn't much to say. They all knew that the previous night sucked. Sam couldn't help but think about how stupid she was and how she had to go see Joe today again. She dropped the girls off at home and continued driving the five minutes to Joe's house. She pulled the flip mirror down in front of her and checked out her appearance. Finally, after stalling long enough, she walked herself up to the front door and rang the doorbell. The first thing she heard was, what sounded like a huge dog barking, then she heard someone trying to unlock the door. She laughed quietly to herself when she finally saw Joe's face looking a bit flustered. "Trouble?", she asked, walking past him into the house. Joe smiled and closed the door behind her. She walked out to the backyard to see Frank and Frankie wrestling on the grass. She smiled to herself. Frankie noticed Sam standing there and automatically started to cry. "Aw, Frankie what's wrong", Sam said. She sat down on the grass next to him, Frank, licking her face. "He's sad that the dog has to go", Joe whispered sitting down next to her. Frankie sat in Joe's lap. "Does she really have to take Frank", Frankie asked Joe. "I'm sorry buddy., but Frank isn't our", Joe said. Frankie started to cry all over again. Sam looked at Joe with worried eyes. Joe smiled like it wasn't a big deal. "Listen, Frankie, you can come to my house and see Frank whenever you want. I'm sure he's going to miss you", Sam said. "How am I going to get to your house", Frankie asked. Sam looked at Joe and sighed. She guessed by Frankie's tone, that he knew Joe and her weren't together anymore. She looked back towards Frankie and smiled. "Joe can bring you over", Sam said. Frankie looked at Joe, who smiled down at him and nodded. Frankie smiled and all was good. Sam thought about how easy it was to make little kids happy. "Frankie, can you watch Frank while I talk to your brother?", Sam said. Frankie nodded and continued playing with Frank. Sam and Joe rose to their feet and headed into the house. Joe sat down on the couch inside of the living room. Sam sat down facing him. She sighed. She didn't know where to begin. She couldn't possibly describe the love she felt for Joe, but she knew she had to try. Joe sat, waiting for her to talk. He wanted nothing more then to take her hand in his, kiss her and just be with her again, but he was getting his hopes up. He didn't even know if that is what she wanted to talk about, so he sat and waited. "I'm stupid", she started with, but before Joe could say anything, she started again. "I know I should trust you", she said. "But you don't", Joe said. Sam looked up at him. Spilling her heart had never been an easy thing for her. "I want to. I made the biggest mistake, not listening to you and jumping to conclusions", Sam said. She tore her eyes away from Joe and looked down. The two sat in silence. Finally, Joe grabbed her hands. He intertwined their fingers and lifted her chin with his free hand. "I have never given you a reason to trust me. I have been everything but a good boyfriend, but that day at the airport, I meant everything I said. I love you", Joe said. He smiled as he watched Sam's tears brim over her eyes. She let go of his fingers and wiped her tears away quickly, then grabbed his fingers back in hers. "I love you too", her voice barley above a whisper. Joe smiled wider. He leaned in and kissed her for the first time in a little over three months. When they broke apart, they heard Frank barking in the backyard. Sam sighed. The two got off the couch, fingers loosely intertwined. They laughed when they saw Frank laying on top of Frankie. Sam called the dog to her side while Joe helped Frankie off the grass. Joe walked Sam out to her car and helped her get Frank into the back seat. He opened the driver's side door for her. Sam rolled down the window, so Joe could lean in a give her a quick kiss. "See you later", Joe said. Sam smiled and took off down his street. Song:Because You Live By:Jesse McCartney
