Sep 4, 2008 - Looks like Boeing going on strike yet again. Didn't they lay off 30,000 employees a few years back..LOL. Got to love unions, they keep sending our jobs overseas

dragonacid16 Says:

Sep 4, 2008 - Boeing is sending them over seas... the union is trying to prevent it. The strike is actually on a 48 hour hold right now to see if Boeing can make a decent offer.

Sep 6, 2008 - what a bunch of dimwits. Don't cry when Airbus wins the air force tanker contract for the second time.

wrttnwrd Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - Given what Boeing offered (which is nothing) some of their employees might fly to Singapore to get a better deal.

dragonacid16 Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - THAT contract had nothing to do with the employees potentially going on strike. First Time Boeing won underhandedly and I hear people went to prison. Second Time The were requirements and Airbus got extra points for being bigger though it wasn't suposed to. Third Time (right now) Boeing might not get it anyway since the new requirements heavily favor Airbus and they may or may not give Boeing time to redesign blueprints to meet those requirements which have massively changed.

dragonacid16 Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - I like Singapore :)

n00dleZombie Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - PROTIP: The deal is fine, it's far and away the best contract right now in the entire fucking aerospace industry. You spoiled bastards need to get your heads out of your asses and stop complaining. Not only have you forfeited a substantial signing bonus, but by deciding to go ahead with this little hissyfit you're going to end up losing at least 2-3 weeks worth of paychecks, which will far outweigh anything you might get from a 'better' contract.

n00dleZombie Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - Because of you morons my father isn't working right now. That's really going to help my family pay bills, thanks a lot. Fucking union dumbasses, 90% of you people DIDN'T EVEN READ THE NEW CONTRACT. You just listened to your almighty Union overlords and won't think for yourselves. Do you think the people over at Airbus get a contract as good as this? I doubt it. Boeing keeps sending jobs overseas because you idiots can't go 2 years without striking.

outlawracing99 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - boeing wants to pay next to nothing to fix planes and when they crash its insurance that pays your death benefits. its cheaper to pay your death than pay for safety. yet all big companies do is "preach preach preach safety" and when you get hurt it's your fault because when the chips are down "safety" goes out the window. u die and corporate profits big. 10 to 1 you wear a tie and suck you know what! hence the theory "bring your own father name down". real nice job you sorry ignorant sole!

dragonacid16 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - I personally don't even work for Boeing and read the contract before even getting any Union info from my family who does work for them. They should care about Family, Health, and Safety, but you couldn't tell from the contract. Your father had the choice to vote like everyone else. I see he isn't here complaining. Airbus also has a union and has the potential to go on strike. Also Boeing doesn't strike every 2 years. It's only even a possibility every 3 and it doesn't always happen.

dragonacid16 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - I know... Sections of Boeing are still getting min wage... ohh lets give them a little raise and raise their medical price on top of that and say they are gonna make 34k more a year with our "calculator" LOL... I used it and was like ok all companies have to pay that so how is that the employees are making more money?

outlawracing99 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - dude you need to reply to zombie. its his father not mine.

dragonacid16 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - I actually clicked on reply to his post... *shrug* it was under his post when I was doing it.

crmac56 Says:

Sep 7, 2008 - That giant weezing sound is American unions pushing more jobs either outside our borders, or to states that protect their economies from union ignorance. Don't think so? Check with the automotive and steel worker unions. Every time arrogant American union bosses and workers call for a strike, the international economy smiles. Ever wonder why Boeing moved it's HQ out of WA?

FDLance Says:

Sep 16, 2008 - Well there goes more american jobs to china thanks to this strike. If you think boeing is gonna build the 737 replacement in this state your dead wrong. They're gonna build it someplace like NC where its a right to work state. Thanks to unions like the IAM

FDLance Says:

Sep 16, 2008 - The Union really needs to have a dress code for their meetings like the pilots union does, cause these fools look like hillbillies, oh wait most are LoL!!! In this economy we can't afford to be out of work. They think they're sticking it to boeing, but they're just hurting the future of their jobs LoL

crmac56 Says:

Sep 22, 2008 - I couldn't have said it better.

BoeingFreddy Says:

Sep 30, 2008 - Right on....there were a lot of IAM folks who wanted to pass it and pissed off that the union exec are still getting their big fat paycheck, benefits etc and seem to think that going while the $150 check are handed out is a great thing. They aren't loosing weeks and weeks of pay. Get a clue and quit driving our work away.
