Kraid, the giant space pirate from the Metroid series. I was inspired by a friend's creation to make this. Now if only I could get the claws in his chest to fire!

xXDragonTribalXx Says:

Aug 14, 2008 - It looks pretty damn close to the real, its not easy to get that close when you want to copy a creature from metroid into spore by yourself!

metallicatnumber0 Says:

joziahdcoleman Says:

Sep 1, 2008 - what are you talking about i think that's a perfect copy only missing the large size of kraid

DeepZero Says:

Sep 1, 2008 - Kraid doesn't have random patches of green and yellow all over his body. Like I said, other than that it's not bad. Not sure why everyone's gotta be all butthurt and downvote my original comment.

codbug Says:

Sep 2, 2008 - He doesn't have 'random patches of green and yellow over his body.' The main obvious problems are his appendages, and back having yellow on the outer edges when they shouldn't. This was a big compromise I had to make for important features to not be a solid green. I could've gone with a yellow belly-only pattern like everyone else, but I would've had to ruin the geometry of the model, which I felt was more important. Despite that, I feel this coloring still makes it easily recognizable as Kraid.

DeepZero Says:

Sep 2, 2008 - Yeah, close enough, I guess. It's too bad we don't have more direct control over the coloring patterns on creatures, instead having it directly defined by geometry.

Kemonokami Says:

Sep 6, 2008 - You win!!

123123s3 Says:

Oct 2, 2008 - Wow!

TheMetroidKiller1 Says:

Oct 2, 2008 - hey, now make Ridley! or a Metroid! SOOO COOOL! another Metroid game, where you actually create and make the breed, and play as the organisim! code named: Spore! (wonder if you could create an old school space pirate?)

Zeithri Says:

Oct 5, 2008 - Well you could technically replace the claws with spit-weapon. Or add a small spitweapon behind them.

codbug Says:

Oct 5, 2008 - Only problem is poison spit doesn't also function as a slow-floating claw-shaped platform to facilitate the ability to blast Kraid's face with a barrage of missiles!
