Mar 5, 2008 - im gonna miss favre.... facing the packers wont be the same... i dont think ill ever get as pumped as i used to before a bears/packers game.
IronPriest82 Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - Yeah think I feel pretty much the same as you, I hate the Packers but you can't hate Favre. Sort of glad he's gone, sad to see his career end but man I can't wait for Green Bay to feel the pain of not having a FAVRE at QB...I want them to suffer with the QB, I want to see year after year the on going search for a Moderate QB like the rest of the league! I've been waiting for this time awhile and now the time has come...a dark cloud is heading towards Green Bay!!! I CANT WAIT!
IronPriest82 Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - Think we are in the same boat, can't stand the Packers but gotta like Favre. I'm sorta sad he's gone but MAN I can't wait for the Great Depression to hit Wisconsin. I cant WAIT for the Packers to feel the pain of not having a FAVRE as a QB. I can't WAIT for them to struggle season after season to find a MODERATE QB like the rest of the league! A dark gloomy cloud is heading to Wisconsin and yes I'm fuckin McLovin it!!! Let the Great Depression Begin! Hail the Vikings!
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - totally! u hit the nail on the head my friend!
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - :) there u go. there is a silver lining... or a dark lining. yes i hate to wish ill but it would be nice for them to realize the normal struggles the other 31 teams in the NFL feel. copy that commander.
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - hehe exactly. they've had it way too good for way too long. back down to earth for the green n gold.
IronPriest82 Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - Had to re-write my message...didn't take the first time...but apparently it did. Regardless I think my point was made.
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - hehe. yeah i've realised that youtube caches pages which basically means you don't always see the "live" version of the page which would have the comments posted. they seem to only do it during the busy times to keep the site fast. i've learned now to just trust that the comments got up there, but either way, when i notice double-posts i just delete the second post if no new points were made. you made new points so i kept them both up there :)

Mar 6, 2008 - I'm a die hard Bears fan but I have always loved Brett Favre for his enthusiasm, his energy, the fun he brings to the game. I loved the risks he took downfield or the risks of gunslinging the ball to a double covered receiver in hopes of a touchdown or theres an interception... but the point is, as long as I've been alive, this was the first time I actually shed tears for a player announcing his retirement. I was too young to shed tears for MJ (management issues with Bulls didnt give him......
deffjeff37 Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - Sorry about the repeated posts. It wouldnt show up. Anyways... management with the bulls didn't give him a proper sendoff, it was like burning bridges, no fault of his, just the bulls management). this is why i like grossman, i see a lot of favre in him, i just wish he was just a little bit more smarter and mobile and we have a great QB in grossman (if he was durable, altho the injuries he always had were cheap hits 2 players opposite direction at his legs). ill miss watching brett favre
deffjeff37 Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - he was fun to watch and the only QB that provided excitement. I always rooted against the packers, but if the bears were out of contention, like this year, then i rooted for favre, not the packers. i wish he had beaten the giants and went on to win the super bowl. NOW thats how a legend should retire after a career resurgence. it would have been a movie-like ending. thanks brett, for all the memories you provided. you were truly one of a kind, the best of my generation.
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - yeah no doubt i agree. it sucked when mj left but it wasn't on his terms no doubt. this is very different. good point. i'm watching him speak right now. i keep waiting for like a standing ovation by the media. they better give it to him and if they don't they are not true football fans. great comments again deffjeff37.
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - oh and one of grossman's injuries that actually knocked him out for the year early in the season was with no one on him when he rolled out and dove and laid out for a first down. it was a field related injury in that his foot stuck in the ground while he dove which caused the injury. yeah i do see grossman the same way. and it's funny cause the pack were giong to draft him to replace favre one pick before the bears nabbed him. people forget how up and down favre was early. to me it's the same.
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - well said my friend.
deffjeff37 Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - i am not watching the press conference but im sure ill be reading it online. i cant see myself really rooting for the packers again the way i did the past couple of years without #4 behind center. the day brett got my love and adoration is the famous monday night game against the raiders. after i saw how he was truly a regular american guy like all of us, i couldnt help but become one of his #1 fans. i wanted the pack to make the playoffs (with the bears beating them obviously lol)
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 6, 2008 - oh yeah that was a great game. they were just showing clips of that. yeah i've had those same thoughts alot. i always root for the north when the bears are outta it. but yeah i won't root for the pack like i did when favre was back behind center maybe ever. i do root for the north but it will be hard without favre back there to root for the pack.
DiebMillz Says:
Apr 19, 2008 - im not a favre fan, but i will miss the games
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Apr 19, 2008 - hehe yeah no doubt. wonder how heated the rivalry will be now with him not there.
DiebMillz Says:
Apr 20, 2008 - thats a good question, it might get more heated because now bears when we win will be like 'see you guys are no good without favre' but who knows
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Apr 21, 2008 - what's interesting to me is that we've had their number under lovie with favre. it would be a shame if that trend somehow reverses itself now without favre.
DiebMillz Says:
Apr 21, 2008 - yeah like if we get to over confident since he isnt there and then the upset of the century occurs
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Apr 21, 2008 - yeah zackly! ;)
NINTENDO409 Says:
May 10, 2008 - I love the bears too. I bleed Blue and Orange. I'm glad Farve is gone he gets much respect from me as a football fan but now the Bears are suppose to have a bigger "threat" in the NFC North...The Vikes. Personally I loved the Bears 08 draft. I truly believe we can win the NFC North.
sportsfansnetwork Says:
Mar 5, 2008 - lol same here! and that's what lovie was sayin' also. totally. i was in shock and just couldn't get a video til i slept on it again to make sure it wasn't just a dream.
