/*Operation Reconnect 04/12/08 *Tell and bring your friends!*/ Hello little Mr. David Miscavige, We are Anonymous - I would like to bring to light a crucial misunderstanding that has allowed Scientology's higher ranks to exploit its followers and society in general. On the cover of Scientology's most commonly referenced literature, "Dianetics: The modern science of mental health" one must not look past the cover of the book to see that Scientology is in fact not claiming to be religion, but instead it is claiming to be "science". The fact that this book and many other LRH novels and Scientology's medical practices have been scientifically laughable and are notorious for their lack of empirical or properly cited evidence to substantiate their almost entirely self serving claims. You too, certainly must be aware that as a "science" you must welcome criticism. Your claim's ability to weather reasonable questioning would sufficiently galvanize your cult/science from further inquiry. Instead of opening access to your doctrine and evidence of your possession of supposed religious technology, you harass and intimidate your critics. "Always attack never defend" A quote repeated through numerous LRH essays and lectures, is a totalitarian practice not at all in line with an organization parading around in the disguise of science. It is not disputed that a claim's ability to persevere beyond reasonable criticism permits it to be accepted as science. The fact that Scientology famously plays the religion card in the face of any and all criticism or questioning, no matter how appropriate or benign: would lead anyone capable of critical thinking to believe that Scientology is anything but science. A religion is described by Mirriam Webster as "the service and worship of God or the supernatural." And according to the same source, a science is "knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method" Surely you can see how an organization could not claim to be two opposing ideologies simultaneously. It would seem the million year war for earth has only just begun, all hail our galactic overlord Xenu. We are not fair game, we are anonymous. We do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us.

Jun 27, 2008 - Thanks for this posting. scientology is a cult and their name should always be shown in lowercase as a symbolic gesture of their hanging their head in shame. Unfortunately they are now advertising on the very popular show, Deal or No Deal. I wish the producers of that show were more enlightened as to the dangers and outrageous, murderous practices of this cult, as detailed in among other places as a Rolling Stone article of a few years back.

Jul 29, 2008 - "This volume probably contains more promises and less evidence per page than has any publication since the invention of printing. ...It has borrowed from psychoanalysis, Pavlovian conditioning, hypnosis and folk beliefs, but, except for the last, these debts are fulsomely denied. The huge sale of the book to date is distressing evidence of the frustrated ambitions, hopes, ideals, anxieties and worries of the many persons who through it have sought succor." - Prof. I. I. Rabi on 'Dianetics', 1951

Mar 24, 2008 - Interesting point re: science. If Dianetics is to be a science, it can only stand up as a hypothesis if tested under conditions which can be re-created by anyone, anywhere else under the same conditions, and achieve the same results. Said hypothesis would also lead to other questions, as everything is science does, rather than a stonewall of SP declares and Fair Game. No science. No religion. Pure b/s.
