Melissa Francis moderates a panel discussion with Matthew Simmons, David Kirsh, and Paul Kedrosky on the subject of Peak Oil. Her interviewing style is a rather nerve grating blend of shrill assertions and tendentious reasoning. But, at a minimum one has to grant that CNBC is at least giving Matt a few minutes of mike time to defend his position. It could be worse...They could just bring on Fadel Gheit (aka Mr. Wrong) or somebody from CERA. Comments are off. While there are many sane, rational people out there who recognize the reality of peak oil, there is at the same time an army of: a) kooks who believe in absurd hypotheses like abiogenic petroleum, b) deniers who think there are plenty of super-giant elephant fields out there just waiting to be discovered, and c) the truly ignorant who, at best, think we can solve this problem with biofuels and coal liquifaction, or, at worst, don't even recongnize there is a problem! And not surprisingly, they love to debate. Uh uh. I have no time for any of them. Peak Oil is real. It's here. It's now. Deal with it. Originally posted on Youtube by xenix2012

Sep 11, 2008 - Little miss CNBC and her two cronies can mock Matt Simmons all they want but Boone Pickens shares similiar views to Matt, and I don't think you'll see him on this show getting mocked any time soon. I hope oil can keep going down amazingly but I just don't know
