Sep 11, 2008 - I agree, all of the nominees were ahead of Goldberg that year. And Ladd and Bracco were in a class of their own.

Sep 11, 2008 - Where did you get the Maureen Stapleton video?
zim83 Says:
Sep 11, 2008 - And in 1986 she was one of the most deserving winners in decades. Her Holly in "Hannah..." is unforgettable.

Sep 12, 2008 - i definetly think that Mira Sorvino truly deserved her Oscar! Every time i watch Michty Aphrodite i think she is moving and funny at the same time, she is totally in the part, perfect! if we think that Mighty Aphrodite has long scenes Mira had to learn a lot of words, like o other actresses that year! Good job Mira!

Sep 12, 2008 - I think its kind of a joke that Judi won for Shakespeare in Love. 8 minutes? Come on. She was good, don't get me wrong, but I mean really.
zim83 Says:
Sep 14, 2008 - Maureen Stapleton in the press room after her win: Q-"how does it feel to be recognized as one of the greatest actresses in the world?". A- "Not nearly as exciting as if I were acknowledged as one of the greatest lays in the world".

Sep 15, 2008 - I think Patty's preformance may just be the #1Best Supporting Actress winner of all time! Do you think so I agree, but someone comes dangerously close to that performance. Sandy Dennis in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. She was marvelous in that film! She does not get much Liz's powerhouse performance but Sandy was BAD in that movie.

Sep 15, 2008 - LET ME CORRECT MYSELF I think Patty's preformance may just be the #1Best Supporting Actress winner of all time! Do you think so I agree, but someone comes dangerously close to that performance. Sandy Dennis in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. She was marvelous in that film! She does not get much credit due to Liz's powerhouse performance but Sandy was BAD in that movie.

Sep 15, 2008 - The only thing Renee Zellwegger deserves is being kicked out of the movie industry for good.
zim83 Says:
Sep 15, 2008 - Angelina Jolie is one of the most underserving winners in the recent years, along precisely with Whoopi Goldberg. Looks like your tastes and mine differ but that win was a joke in my opinion.
zim83 Says:
Sep 15, 2008 - Believe it: Julie Christie was FAR better in "Darling".

Sep 15, 2008 - 1988

Sep 15, 2008 - I agree.Though she was very good in Girl Interrupted i felt Chloe Sevigny and Catherine Keener gave better performances that year
dinasztie Says:
Sep 19, 2008 - Absolutely right. The best word for describing it is PERFECT.
dinasztie Says:
Sep 21, 2008 - I feel that in 1963, Angela Lansbury absolutely should have won for The Manchurian Candidate. She was such a real evil bitch there, she was marvellous! Patty Duke was excellent but not nearly as perfect as Angela Lansbury was.
NateNate83 Says:
Sep 21, 2008 - Patty Duke was way better!
kattybatty Says:
Sep 21, 2008 - i love it when they run to the stage. I wish they still did that
4aiiii Says:
Sep 27, 2008 - Agree with you Diane Ladd in Wild at Heart should have won instead of Goldberg Chloe Sevign should have won for Boys Don't Cry instead of Jolie.

Sep 29, 2008 - WOW! A black woman winning the academy award in 1939!!! That is radical!!!

Oct 4, 2008 - I love how Abigail is sitting in her seat looking very relaxed. lol

Oct 5, 2008 - How unglamourous do the Oscars look in the past.
Valapaca Says:
Oct 9, 2008 - I never understood why Judi Dench won for Shakespeare in Love, she was only for 8 minutes on the screen. So, what's the point!!! ----- Mira Sorvinos win was very deserving. ----- Lauren Bacall never recovered from losing against Juliette. ----- Jennifer Hudson was another mistake from the Academy to give the oscar to her. ----- Well, the list goes on and on.....
