The song sequences and movies turned out to be major successes and Sridevi soon became number one indian actress. She retained that position for a long time until Madhuri Dixit snatched it from her.

Mar 7, 2008 - Hi diwanee2. I think Sri is a very versatile actress and a powerful dancer. In terms of acting/movies, I loved her performances in Judaai (superb performance), Sadma, and Nagina the best. In terms of dancing, I thought the dance numbers in Nagina, Chandni, and Sultanat were especially great. In her item numbers like the ones in Tohfa, Justice Chadhoury, Suhaagan, etc she is dressed like a princess, very girlie and decorated :) She is a child/woman which helps her in her versatility as an artist
