RamonesMusic Says:
Jun 29, 2008 - Johnny Ramone was not a raciest, he may have made certain comments about other people but he was never a conforming raciest, he was a Ramone who loved his baseball.
chikensymbol Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - I'd rather see green day sell 6...8 million records than having rap music on the radio.==you dont like rap?== No, its disgusting ==why?== because its... its garbage! its fabricated stuff, that people dont wanna learn how to play an instrument.... DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!
chikensymbol Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - o waa waa. your like a baby. if you dont like it just forget it and listen to your goddamn rap shit. But dont make a big stink about this.. your ruining it for everyone else. I mean... if you dint like it, THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU SOME HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE BITCH?
grenadianmed Says:
Jun 30, 2008 - Hey shit for brains, I'm merely passing along facts. If you're too dumb to accept them, so be it you dumb piece of shit.
mrstiches15 Says:
Jul 2, 2008 - KKK took my baby away was a song about how johnny stole joeys girlfriend away from him. Joey never told johnny till later after the song had came out. Research your facts you moron before you accuse my hero of racism.
grenadianmed Says:
Jul 2, 2008 - Hey dipshit, I know that already. Can you read books? Because its documented in Monte Melnicks book that Johnny was a card-carrying member of the KKK and when he stole Joey's girl he wrote that song about him. He used to call Joey a kike and make constant bigoted remarks. Your hero is a piece of shit like you.
RamonesMusic Says:
Jul 2, 2008 - no, johnny is the 16th greatest guitar player of all time. Johnny would probably punch you right now
BrickUnit Says:
Jul 2, 2008 - Johnny complains about how long the rolling stones have been playing..AND THAT WAS IN 1996..its now 12 years later!..they are still playing, lol
grenadianmed Says:
Jul 2, 2008 - Haha, I agree with that. I love the Ramones, they're my favourite band of all time. And despite being a hard-nosed bastard, Johnny was a great guitarist and enforced discipline in the band which probably helped them stay together in the long run. Joey described it as a unhappy marriage where the parents stayed together for the kids (fans). But my facts on Johnny are correct, I've read many books on the Ramones.
drlauren4229 Says:
Jul 3, 2008 - He was a republican.....i agree wit Johnny.....HE ROX!!!
TOGGGAA1 Says:
Jul 4, 2008 - Johnny Ramone is my favorite ramone. I know alot about these guys but I need to look up some more. Hey I listen to early misfits songs and wonder if the misfits collaborated with the ramones, played shows, or were even just influenced by them. Somebody answer me that?
RamonesMusic Says:
Jul 4, 2008 - we i don't know too much about the misfits although i can tell you that all the early punk bands such as sex pistols, clash etc would all have been inspired by the ramones first album
WorkSucksMedia Says:
Jul 7, 2008 - Yeah, the Misfits like the Ramones and vice versa. In fact, Marky Ramone played for The Misfits.
killhappypunkies Says:
Jul 11, 2008 - thar's true the ramones inspired all the punks just by the hey oh let go (because it have to be a warcry or something stand up and do something) and for that the clash and sex pistols respect them cuz they were not like the others ny bands
williestratton Says:
Jul 19, 2008 - hahaha i like his accent JOHNNY RAMONE PWNS
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - EVERYBODY has been influenced by The Ramones!! Even if someone has never heard a Ramones song, they like a band that listens to The Ramones regularly! In that way they have permeated our culture irrefutably! So much so(in my opinion) that asking if this band or that band was influenced by them is a pointless exercise. Most bands are in some way.
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - Classic Johnny! So distant, so negative. I really like how his band persona was designed to allow him privacy. I disagree with him about the Stones though. I hope to see the Stones one day before they quit.
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - Sure he was a republican. But don't hold that against him. He was kickass despite the fact.
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - And I hope they play until they physically can't anymore. In my ideal world, the Stones will be around to introduce my kids to. And they'll still be awesome!
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - No, I do not agree with your summation. In my opinion punk is "about" flipping off anything that tells you what you should be. About turning traditional "bad" into good that you can use. Sure it has its self-destructive tendencies, but those usually die off after the teenage years. That being said, punk really can't be defined without being destroyed. Whatever you think it is, you're wrong in some way. It's the proverbial fountain of youth. Hence the modern incarnation of The Sex Pistols.
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - Not true. Some rap is thoughtful, introspective and profound. The fact that the most mindless rap is disseminated through popular radio is not proof that the whole genre is forfeit. You just have to sift through the crap to see something worthwhile. Just like anything else creative. Just like music as a whole. Just like painting. Just like poetry. Just like acting. I think that rap was born of a desire to express musical creativity through non-traditional forms. Then it was perverted.
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - Just because it's not your style of music does not mean that it is without merit. Look deeper into it and you realize that it's just another form of music. Your opinion of it is completely subjective. Anyone that doesn't find something to admire in anything creative isn't looking hard enough.
existenceisrelative Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - Rap is a talent. Try it. People practice it for years. Not to mention the various vocal noises that get put to disc. Rap is far from my favorite music, but one cannot disbelieve the skill it takes to make some of it. Myka nine, Pigeon john, their words are not randomly selected to make them sound good. It is basically people learning how far their lyrics can go. all I'm saying is look deeper into it before condemning it as musical crap
RamonesMusic Says:
Jul 20, 2008 - johnny implies it as disgusting because of the hate speech, drugs, sex and violence it promotes.
grenadianmed Says:
Jun 29, 2008 - Part of Johnny's hatred for rap stems from his hatred of black people. He was a card-carrying member of the KKK, and the song "KKK took my baby away" was about him.
