Apr 9, 2008 - I think the name comes from the way it crashes down, I am not joking. They have a controversial history of accidents prior to their approval for deployment. Due to seemingly political connections, the contract was approved despite costs and safety concerns.

Apr 18, 2008 - Harriers had the same bad reputation in the begining, now everyone wants or haves them. This coming from a old Marine who work on CH-46's

Apr 19, 2008 - What the hell are you talking about? They got it name from during the Vietnam War because the Vietnamese doesn't have a word for Eagle.

Apr 27, 2008 - I agree. I think if one looks at the pro's and con's of the MV-22 compared to other types of rotory aircraft, the MV-22 can gain speed, distance, and altitude a lot faster than say the CH-46 or the CH-53. I think the MV-22 will do a lot of good for the Corps

Jun 18, 2008 - Some of us in the USAF are going to be slotted to work on the USAF's version of the Osprey once the Pave Hawk is put out to pastures within the next few years.

Jun 28, 2008 - It took a long time to get the osprey flying, and it even took lives in some crashes unfortunately. Looks like it's paying off, kind of makes me think a little bit about the pelican in halo for some reason... Wonder how an osprey 2 may turn out?
