They're much like stratus/cirrus clouds, forming, evaporating, spreading-out - all because of temperature, humidity, pressure and up/down movement (convection) of the air at different altitudes. Note - ALL contrails are technically chemtrails since jet fuel (see wikipedia:JET FUEL) is mostly petrolium (nasty!) with other crap added. Fun, eh?! :]

Mar 1, 2008 - Why would contrails disappear almost instantly. They are just frozen water, the same a cirrus clouds. Do cirrus clouds disappear almost instantly? Obviously not - so why would contrails?
