this time was for real. so i happened to look out my window and i saw my neighbors (who ive never REALLY met) standing outside looking into the woods, obviously looking at a bear. i went outside with my camera and checked it out. after about 5 minutes, he started to come out. just a small black bear thats been hanging around lately, nothing to worry about. he was testing us. see how he moves towards us? we didnt back down, so he backs up without losing eye contact.. then he tries again and comes about 15 feet from us (the side of the house gives a reference to the proximity). wasnt worried cause its not like hes gonna do anything, but it was exciting. first bear encounter in a while. oh yeah, and my neighbor is apparently kinda weird. alaskan hick style. ive never met them, like i said.. i filmed this from their driveway. in the true alaskan spirit, he rawdogs it and chases the bear off with a trash can lid. welcome to alaska.
