Getting close to the 1kg mark guys! The following are three tests conducted over the last two weeks. The first is the 7:3:2 mixture we have been using so far, and the other two are comprised of a new flash powder; 70% Potassium Permanganate to 30% Aluminum by weight. This type of flash burns incredibly fast, and this means it requires very little compression to work effectively. The third test in particular was just a steel pipe approx 60mm in diameter with wooden chokes in both ends, we did compress it pretty well for maximum effect. A hole was drilled for the sparkler fuse & as you can see, the camera didn't even capture the whole explosion! Watch right to the end for the still frames of the explosion! As always, safety comes first and use common sense. Don't be stupid when dealing with explosives! There is no substitute for your life.

Jul 31, 2008 - Yea, Its just a case of knowing where to go. The only thing we have a really hard time with is Visco fuse. Its classed as an explosive and inherently is almost impossible to find outside fireworks season...
