Books: The only books I'm reading these days are tutorials...and that's doing me just fine for the time being. However, I haven't ruled a good novel out...

Music: I have a deep appreciation for orchestral works based on film stock. They can be listened to separately in the right space: The works of Jerry Goldsmith Ennio Morricone Danny Elfman Philip Glass John Debney John Williams Angelo Badalamenti Rachel Portman David Newman Randy Newman Michael Giacchino Howard Shore Wendy Carlos Carter Burwell....and others

Hobbies: watching movies, creating voices, making orchestral music, watching more movies, watching films, listening to film scores with ambient lighting (or zero lights), learning the French language, drawing cartoons...

I'm an editor/composer and an aspiring filmmaker who looks to invigorate the minds of those looking for something different in cinema these days. I hope to see some of the effects used in 80s cinema tried in these times to remind the world again what we have missed so dearly...practicality...and how that sometimes being over-the-top with CGI can damage the soul of a film (obviously GOOD CGI-enhanced films that actually suit the story flow excluded).
