[NEWS] I made website to share my sub file. So if you are interested in making sub video of your own, maybe you might want to have a peek. I've also made a page that explains how I make video.(It's really only a rough outline but I 've taken screen shot to make it easier.) Website address is at the bottom. [Note about my translation] As you noticed my translation have a lot of () and / and I know they look crappy. And there's part that could make you wonder about the "tense" in words too. Though "tense" is actually the part I really care and try to stay true to the original lyric. When they sound weird, there are 3 possibility. 1) I just messed up. 2) It's just another difference in expression bet. Japanese and English. 3) Original lyric's grammar itself is messed up. Most of the time it's 2. There's some 3 too since most of music is done by amateur artist, and there's no one such as editor with them. And yes I do make miss too, and I be happy if you could point out when I'm totally wrong(^^; BTW, I have to admit my weak point is in usage of adding "a" and "the". That we don't have in Japanese so(^^; I need to read more books I guess. [About request] I'm sorry but I can't take it for time being. I am working to get at least one requested video up a week though I have all the request that could keep me busy until August so...>< [My translation policy] For me there are 3 type of lyric translation. 1) Translation for actual singing 2) Translation for comprehending --- This is what you see most in music product print out. It mainly focus on making translation grammatically+culturally natural as possible. Often adding words never used in original lyric. 3) This is what I am trying to do and I focus mainly on the timing word is used in lyric since lyric when sang by vocal is obviously part of music. And I believe timing in the music is rhythm/meaning itself. But the trouble is Japanese and English are really different in language so if I focus on timing, word tend to fall apart hardly making any sense. I also hate using word not used in original lyric so it makes it even harder. So to back this up I use (). () show you what was really written in original lyric and what was not. When I have to use word that's not in lyric but need to use it to keep the nuance of original I use (). I also use () to connect sentence&word to make sense or to give better understanding on lyric. It's all experimental so if you are used to type 2 translation, it'll look crappy and you might not like it. So if you are looking for 1 or 2, or better 3's sorry, you'll need to find right person to do it. Though any suggestion for better translation is always help so if you have anything, please contact me by message. TIA.
