A: I use an Audio-Technica Cardoid Condenser Microphone and a Tascam USB Interface. Plus the normal 'sidekick' equipment- Mic stand and pop filter. Q: What kind of music do you sing? A: I sing the songs that make me happy and ones that help me through hard times of my life. Mostly showtunes, soundtrack songs, pop & easy listening songs. Q: What do you expect from a formal duet? A: Basically to finish it ASAP... or under a month or two at most. Also, for at least one of us to put up the video. If the other person doesn't put up the video, I'd say they should at least share it with their contacts so that we both get exposure. Thanks for understanding! ------------------------ Daphne Wong, originally from Singapore, is a singer specializing in Musical Theatre repertoire. At 18, she has had many opportunities to perform. From talent shows to concerts and private functions, she has obtained many valuable experiences. The highlight of her musical career so far was being asked to sing the Canadian National Anthem for multiple award ceremonies held by the Canadian Government in 2007. Recently, her recording of A Change In Me from Disney's Beauty and the Beast was used in the process for a Disney Musical Revue in Chicago, Illinois. With over 6 years of training under her belt, she continues to keep growing as a performer. Influenced by countless musicals as well as the powerful songstresses Lea Salonga, Stephanie J. Block, Laura Bell Bundy, Ruthie Henshall, Heather Headley and Sherie Rene Scott, she has begun exploring different styles of singing, including pop, acoustic, classical, choral, soundtrack, a cappella, jazz, contemporary, and of course, theatre. She is also experimenting with songwriting and at this time has completed a project, and is in the middle of another. Currently based in Toronto, Canada, her goal is to become involved in Musical Theatre, and eventually, to perform on Broadway. Over the years, she has portrayed smaller roles in musicals such as Scrooge: The Musical and Rats: The Musical. She is now preparing herself to perform bigger roles. Her dream roles include 'Eponine' in Les Miserables, 'Kim' in Miss Saigon, 'Nala' in The Lion King, 'Belle' in Beauty and the Beast, 'Paulette' in Legally Blonde, 'Amneris' or 'Aida' in Aida, and of course, 'Elphaba' in Wicked. In addition to her vocal background, Daphne has also had 7 years of piano training as well as 3 years of violin lessons. She is presently focusing on vocal performance and musical theatre training. Presently, she is working on 3 projects: - A Best of Broadway album - A Debut Self-Titled album - A Gospel album Her current favourite song to sing is So Much Better, from the new Broadway musical, Legally Blonde. ------------------------------ DUETS/REQUESTS I've had quite a lot of duet requests in the past few days but I've still got a lot of promised duets and other recordings to get through, I'll be putting a hold on duet requests for now. :) Keep the other requests coming, though!
