City Riots wasted no time creating a buzz with their brand of indie rock. After snatching a handful of local supports (Operator Please, Midnight Juggernauts, Dukes of Windsor, British India, Belles Will Ring), the band picked up the national support for US acts the Academy Is... and Cobra Starship across Australia last August. The band then headed stateside to tour the US playing the Atlantis and Dewey Beach Music Conferences, and shows in New York, Washington and Los Angeles. 2008 has seen City Riots play the Big Day Out, Soundwave and Fuse festivals in Adelaide, while also making television appearances on Channel [V]. The band has received airplay on Triple J with the track 'My Favourite T-Shirt' and the latest single 'I only hate you cause I have to' has been added to spot rotation. COMING UP... In early 2008, Martin Elbourne (former agent of New Order, The Smiths) booker for Glastonbury (UK) immediately confirmed City Riots to play The Great Escape Festival (UK) in May 2008, after watching one of the bands recent live shows. City Riots will also be performing side shows in London before heading straight from the UK to LA to record a new single and play a 5 week run of shows including summerfest in Milwaukee, WI and Wave Gathering Festival in New Jersey.
