If you need an announcer or MC for any type of an event, school sports, church, parties just to name a few give Ray Wright a call at 313-675-4955 In 1994 at the Warren & Connor Development Coalition, then the Youth on the Edge of Greatness, Program Coordinator Ray Wright, held a celebrity basketball game to rise funding for Eastside Youth Services. The "Mega Challenge" teamed up with radio station WDFN 1130 AM to formulate a special event whish raised currency and consciousness to help facilitate continued tutorial educational and recreational services to Detroit eastside youth. in 1995 at Detroit's Urban League (DUL) as part of the Male Responsibility Program, Wright was commissioned to organize DIA's first Kwanzaa Celebration in its 80 year history. Program Director Michael B. Cross and Wright thought it would be good to recognize others who have performed great work throughout the year. Wright called the award, "The Distinguished Community Service Award". Since that time, JAMM Project has given over 80 deserving recipients this award. In 1997 Barbara Miller hired Wright as Community Organizer of the Family Development Center located at the Perdue Educational Building on Pontiac, Michigan's eastside. Board -Member Rev. Johnny West donated $600 to bring in the Detroit Pistons as partners to help supports a Pistons Basketball One Day Workshop. During this time, Wright, now a news-sports anchor on Marilyn Childres's "Positively Pontiac" and "inside Pontiac" Comcast cable program, met Detroit Piston's Summer Basketball Clinics Director Steve Moreland and Chris Fritzching. In a half an hour meeting, they arranged a partnership that has Iasted until this day. JAMM has raised funding and awareness for organizations like, Oakland County's Lighthouse, Oakland County's Boys & Girls clubs, Oakland County's Food Bank, Greater Pontiac Community Coalition and has entertained over 20,000 youth on both sides of 8 mile road. For the past 6 yegrs, JAMM Project's JAMM Session , the projects primary fundraiser, hgs been held at Pontiac Northern High School and supported by its faculty, athletic department and students.
